Welcome to Kindergarten!
Dear Families,
Welcome to Kindergarten! I am excited about the beginning of the new school year. The education of your child is both a privilege and a great responsibility. Working as a team will provide a foundation for your child's educational and social development.
I am so excited to have your child in my classroom this year. Your child is a very special little person with his/her own interests, needs, hopes, and learning style. You have already done some very important things to prepare your child for school. I hope that you will consider us partners during this school year in providing the best opportunities for your child in his/her growth.
Along with enhancing your child's social skills, our curriculum will include: developing phonemic awareness skills (hearing sounds in words), learning the letters and sounds of the alphabet, learning basic sight words, developing reading skills, writing our ideas down so others can read it, counting, and thinking mathematically through cognitively guided math instruction. We will learn together with lots of fun activities.
If at any time you have questions or concerns please just ask. I am looking forward to a great year!
Your partner in education,
Deb Spencer
